A few words from Maggie

My counselling career began over 30 years ago whilst I was a nurse working on Oncology and dealing with terminal patients and their grieving relatives. Later in my career I achieved the position of Managing Director of a pharmaceutical company. After successfully heading up the company for several years I decided to study at the University of Wales to become a cognitive therapist. During this time I became more interested in relationship counselling leading to my decision to specialise in this field although I continue to offer a wider range of services to my clients. I followed on by training as a relationship therapist and then gained a diploma in psychosexual therapy which I see as a necessary qualification to fully understand and uncover hidden agendas encountered during counselling sessions. I have also qualified as a young person’s therapist focusing on helping young people to come to terms with relationship issues such as their parent’s separation and also to help with their own relationship and sexual problems. I have worked with Mind, Women’s Aid, Relate, Schools and various other clinics including fertility clinics. I am now a member of a psychosexual team within the NHS seeing patients at referral clinics in local hospitals and centres. In addition I run my own private practice from two centres.

I am a member of the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists and work strictly to their code of ethics and practices which involves me having regular supervision and personal therapy.

A NOTE FROM JULIET ABOUT MAGGIE: Maggie is very insightful, and is a calm and hugely experienced couple and psychosexual therapist.  She has been helping me for a few years, offering these couples intensives.  I heartily recomend her.
