We have made the decision to run the July Sex Arousal & Ageing workshop to online,

This course is not intended to be a comprehensive workshop about how to work couples online.  Our focus in these workshops is working with couples, and up until now this has always been face to face. Having said that, implicitly you will experience handling online technology, and will be doing ‘couples therapy’ roleplay in 3’s – where one is the therapist and two role play a couple – in  breakout rooms.  This mirrors doing couples therapy online, and will give you some skills practice at doing that.  However, to work with couples online will need further practice and training.

The workshop will be run over 3 days.  These are the dates:

Please log onto zoom at 2.15 so you are ready to start at
2.30 – 6.30 on Friday 24 July, and please allow an extra 30 mins in case the workshop runs over

Please log onto zoom at 2.15 so you are ready to start at

11.30-1.30 on Sunday 26 July there will be a Q and A session. Please bring questions to this session

SLIDES AND EXERCISES

Before the workshop you will be sent a copy of the slides and the exercises.

PRACTICE AT BEING A THERAPIST

One feature of our Working With Couples workshops is that there is an opportunity for everyone to practice being a therapist once during the training.  We will continue this in the online world using Zoom Breakout rooms.

MAXIMUM NUMBERS

For this workshop it is our intention to have a maximum of 30 participants, as we explore running trainings in the online world.

EQUIPMENT YOU WILL NEED

We will use Zoom, so you would need a computer that has good enough internet access to be able to be online, and in a quiet spot where you won’t be disturbed.  It would be preferable if there are no people walking around in the background. An Iphone can be used in an emergency, but we recommend planning on using a laptop or computer.  Tablets also work, though please be aware that they have less functionality in Zoom.

PRACTICE SESSIONS FOR USING ZOOM

Many people will never have attended a workshop online.  So, we have decided to run 2 ‘technology’ practice sessions.  This will give everyone a chance to log on and check that their microphone and camera is functioning correctly.  These will be on:

Wednesday 22 July and Thursday 23 July – 2 – 2.30

We strongly recommend that everyone ‘joins’ the meeting for ONE of these sessions.  This is to ensure that no time is wasted once the June workshop starts. Please let us know if you do not need this session, because you have complete confidence in both your equipment & your ability to use it!!

CANCELLATIONS and any requests to change (eg defer to alternative dates) made at less than 21 days before the course start date will be charged in full.  Any cancellation / requests to defef before 21 days, will be subject to a 12.5% handling charge.
