CONTENT: This 2 day training

  • defines and differentiates between anger and rage
  • makes the link between rage and trauma
  • explores the positive aspects of anger and
  • identifies a wide range of ways in which anger gets distorted
Further, it
  • presents a relational approach and methodologies for working with anger and rage.
  • offers the opportunity to view a demonstration of the approach,
  • skills practice,
  • a supervision slot to discuss a case and
  • opportunities throughout for Q&A.
  • deepens understanding about how a therapeutic relationship alone provides clients with everything they need to address their anger and rage issues.
  • arms participants with up to date neuroscience, positive outcomes in therapy and academic research findings.

An empathic, relational approach will be experienced first hand as the process of the training mirrors the approach being advocated.

She is the author of “Anger, Rage and Relationship: An Empathic Approach to Anger Management” published by Routledge.

WHO THIS WORKSHOP IS DESIGNED FOR:  Counsellors, psychotherapists, coaches and health workers are welcome to attend this workshop.  The focus will be on one-to-one work with clients.

EQUIPMENT YOU WILL NEEDWe will use Zoom, so you would need a computer that has good enough internet access to be able to be online, and in a quiet spot where you won’t be disturbed.  It would be preferable if there are no people walking around in the background. An Iphone can be used in an emergency, but we recommend planning on using a laptop or computer.  Tablets also work, though please be aware that they have less functionality in Zoom.  You will need access to a printer to print the handouts (Please see Slides and Exercises below).

MAXIMUM NUMBERSThis workshop will have a maximum of 30 participants

SLIDES AND EXERCISESThe exercises and handouts will be sent to you approximately 1 week before the workshop.  Please print out for yourself these BEFORE the workshop.  If you don’t have access to a printer and want us to print and post these to you, we can do this for a charge of £8 in the UK (£10 in Europe).  Please pay here £8.00 in the UK£10 in Europe, and email sambaker.pa@gmail.com to  let us know that you need this.  Please give us 2 weeks notice to prepare and post these.

SECOND SET OF HANDOUTS: After the workshop you will be asked to fill in a feedback form.  Completing this feedback form will give you a link to further handouts. Please write this link and password down, as you will need these to access the webpage where this comprehensive set of handouts are stored.  These handouts are available for you to download a copy onto your own desktop. You must complete the download within two weeks of the end of the workshop.  We ask you not to share any of the slides, exercises or handouts with other professionals who have not attended the workshop.  But you are welcome to share the occasional handout or page with clients.
