An Overview of Working With Trauma and the Living Body: A Practical and Clinical Approach with Claire Spiller

  • Define trauma and explore how this may affect clients
  • Identify the role of the Brain and Autonomic Nervous System in embodied traumatic experience
  • Learn about exploring sensations to manage anxiety symptoms
  • Explore and work with the ways that the body participates in traumatic experience using phenomenological inquiry, whilst assessing and managing risk
  • Practise practical and clinical interventions to work with embodied trauma including:

Content:

  • uses an empathic, relational approach which will be experienced first hand as the process of the training mirrors the approach being advocated.
  • defines and differentiates between anger and rage
  • makes the link between rage and trauma
  • explores the positive aspects of anger and
  • identifies a wide range of ways in which anger gets distorted
  • presents a relational approach and methodologies for working with anger and rage.

  • deepens understanding about how a therapeutic relationship alone provides clients with everything they need to address their anger and rage issues.

Grief: The Gateway to Transformation with Sue Parker Hall

Content:

  • provides a balance of theoretical input, reflection and sharing in small and large groups, some poetry and prose, and a creative exercise. the lens of two of our professions traditional models of grieving and other familiar writers’ contributions to the field
  • Sue’s  own definition and model of grieving
  • looking at a wide range of sources of grief, beyond bereavement, including losses through separation and divorce, child development difficulties, Adverse Childhood Experiences and adverse adult experiences and looking at the grief involved in coming to terms with our existence
  • exploring the idea of big ‘G’ Griefs and little ‘g’ griefs including complicated grief
  • differentiating between grief and depression, and between grief and trauma
  • relational debriefing and processing of the creative exercise 
  • the articulation of Sue’s relational models for reflection, processing and transformation of grief

 

Suicide and Trauma with Claire Spiller

This will create a final certificate which will be emailed to you.  Additionally, when filling in that form, you can tick a box and we will send you a posh certificate that looks like this one below, on card.
