- uses an empathic, relational approach which will be experienced first hand as the process of the training mirrors the approach being advocated.

- provides a balance of theoretical input, reflection and sharing in small and large groups, some poetry and prose, and a creative exercise. the lens of two of our professions traditional models of grieving and other familiar writers’ contributions to the field
- Sue’s own definition and model of grieving
- looking at a wide range of sources of grief, beyond bereavement, including losses through separation and divorce, child development difficulties, Adverse Childhood Experiences and adverse adult experiences and looking at the grief involved in coming to terms with our existence
- exploring the idea of big ‘G’ Griefs and little ‘g’ griefs including complicated grief
- differentiating between grief and depression, and between grief and trauma
- relational debriefing and processing of the creative exercise
- the articulation of Sue’s relational models for reflection, processing and transformation of grief
